Shell-model calculations for 28Si
Description
A spherical-shell-model calculation is performed for 28 Si where up to 3p–3h excitations in the 2s–1d major harmonic-oscillator shell have been included. A good account is given of the observed electromagnetic and β-decay data, although only fair agreement between the shell model and experimental spectra is obtained.
