Investigation of space charging of dielectrics by mean-energy electrons
- 1. Tomskij Politekhnicheskij Inst. (USSR). Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Ehlektronnoj Introskopii
Description
Volume charge (VC) accumulation in polymethylmetacrylate (PMMC) and quartz glass (QG) was studied experimentally. Irradiation with monoenergetic electrons with the energy from 50 up to 100 keV was performed. Measurements were carried out within the 150 - 300 K temperature range. Determination of VC density accumulated in sample irradiation was performed using the albedo method of electric potentials probing. It is shown that VC density in a stationary state increases with the temperature drop, sample thickness increase and beam current density elevation. The current density dependence is power one. VC density increases with decreasing electron energy
