Measurement of muonic x rays after muon catalyzed fusion of PD, DD and DT

Description
In the first experiments of this kind muonic x rays after muon induced fusion have been measured for liquid PD, D/sub 2/ and DT. The yield per fusion of the muonic He (2-1) line was found to be (2.9+-0.3)%, (1.6+-0.4)% and, preliminary, 0.25% for pd, dd and dt fusion, respectively. The value for pd fusion agrees with the result of a recent calculation, while the value for dd fusion is low by more than 50%
