Description
2,6-bis(5,6-dialkyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)pyridines are known to extract actinide selectively in acidic medium, which makes these ligands good candidates for lanthanide(III)/actinide(III) separation. The thermodynamic parameters of complexation of Eu(III) with 2,6-bis(5,6-ethyl-1,2,4-triazin-3-yl)pyridine have been determined by spectrophotometry and calorimetry. Time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy was also used to infer about the stoichiometry of the complexes. (author)
