Description

Imaging based diagnosis is one of the most well-know and widespread procedures in nuclear medicine. From the decade of the 50 the Rectilinear Scanner was the principal equipment used for this ends, until in the decade of the 70 the enhanced Anger or gamma camera coupled to a computer, because of its unquestionable advantages gradually displaced it until at the present time the rectilinear Scanner is an obsolescent piece of equipment. Nevertheless, it is admitted that in static studies the quality of the images obtained has a similar diagnostic value. Based on this premise, first of all , of investigating how much this coupling can enhance the images obtained in terms of speed, resolution and comfort and safety in operating the equipment. Most important, this is aimed at applying techniques of image processing that may improve its quality and contrast
