Process for the manufacture of a flexible superconductor, consisting of a carbon fibre with a thin layer of a niobium compound of the general formula NbCsub(x)Nsub(y) and a highly conductive external metal layer
Description
NH3 and CH4 are added to the niobium separated out with fine grain structure at 6000C, and the temperature is then increased. The carbon and nitrogen formed by dissociation spread along the grain boundaries throughout the whole layer. A recrystallisation of the grains at the start of the formation of a niobium carbo-nitride film is prevented. (DG)

Dem bei 6000C feinkoernig abgeschiedenen Nb wird NH3 und CH4 zugefuehrt und die Temperatur danach erhoeht. Das durch Dissoziation entstehende C und N breitet sich entlang der Korngrenzen durch die genannte Schicht aus. Es wird eine Rekristallisation der Koerner unter beginnender Bildung eines Niobcarbonitrid-Films verhindert. (DG)Files
