Lead isotopes and the regional geochemistry of North Australian uranium deposits
Description
Uranium mineralization in North Australia occurs in comparable time-stratigraphic sequences in two regions 800 Km apart; the Pine creek geosyncline and the Westmoreland area along the Murphy tectonic ridge. The rock geochemistry, mineralogy and isotopic composition indicates a hydrothermal origin for the ores but neither low temperature nor recent emplacement. (R.L.)
