Description
Well-resolved 147Sm and 149Sm NMR spin-echo spectra of the Sm2Fe17 and Sm2Fe17N2.5 compounds are presented. A significant increase of the hyperfine field and a drastic decrease of the quadrupole splittings with nitrogenation is observed. From the quadrupole splittings we derived the lattice contributions to the electric field gradient and discussed their relation to the crystal electric field parameter A20 in these compounds. (orig.)
