CT imaging of brain tumours: a simple approach

This paper discusses the role of computed tomography (CT) in brain tumours. The CT assessment must be supported by a sound understanding of clinical neurology and neuropathology, together with a knowledge of those non-neuplastic space occupying intracranial lesions which may mimic a brain tumour. The three basic steps which should be followed when assessing a CT examination - abnormal morphology, abnormal density (attenuation) and abnormal enchancement - are examined
