High-energy pion beam decay in a medium: formation of a decay channel

Description
A nonlinear pion beam propagation in a medium is considered. It is shown that the pion beam energies of the new accelerators are sufficient to reduce the medium (gas, liquid) density and to form a decay channel decreasing the energy release and angular divergence of the pion and neutrino beam
