Description
We emphasize a new class of high-transverse-momentum collisions in which the entire energy of an incident meson is delivered into production of a pair of large-p/sub T/ jets at large angle, with no final-state particles emerging along the beam axis. Simple two-body kinematics govern the reaction, with the longitudinal and transverse momentum of the second jet being specified uniquely in terms of those of the trigger jet. The quantum-chromodynamic subprocess which mediates the collision involves the direct coupling of the incident meson, and it is normalized absolutely in terms of the pion form factor F/sub π/
