Structures related to the β-tungsten or Cr3Si structure type

Creators

Description

Traditional crystalographic operations, such as translation, rotation and reflection, and intergrowth are used to show how several structures, among them the tetrahedrally close-packed, can be accurately derived from the β-tungsten structure type. Examples are Zr4Al3, Fe2B, Mo3CoSi, Ga2Mg5, GaMg, Ga,α- and β- V3S, W2CoB2, CeAl, W5Si3, the sigma phase, the Friauf-Laves phases, the μ phase, the P and M phases, the (Co057Si043(3V2 phase, the chi phase, and the ν phase. 53 references, 26 figures, 6 tables
