Switzerland electricity supply perspectives. Views of the Federal Government
Creators
Description
Previous perspective research work carried out by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) shows that energy systems offer only little room for manoeuvre in the short- and medium term. Even so, the course needs to be set for objectives and provisions coming into force in 2010. In light of hitherto researched scenarios a transitional strategy with fossil-fuel thermal generating units aimed at closing electricity supply gaps, which are expected from 2020, seems unavoidable. Extensive compensation of additional CO2 emission at home and abroad is technically possible and economically justifiable. (author)
