Description

A review is done on the theory of a multiple scattering influence on the radiation of ultrarelativistic particles in matter. The classical theory of Landau-Pomeranchuk effect of the radiation suppression of relativistic particles in an amorphous medium is presented both in the simplest form given by the authors and in the improved form given by Migdal. It is shown that the method of the functional integration may be used for the investigation of the multiple scattering influence on the radiation of fast particles in matter which enables to construct a quantitative theory of the effect for both amorphous and crystalline media. The problem of a stichastic motion possibility of a charged particle through a crystal is considered. The common and distinctive features of ultrarelativistic particles radiation in amorphous and crystalline media as well as in intensive electromagnetic fields are discussed
