Description

A new device based on mass spectroscopy allows a real-time analysis of explosive materials present at trace levels. This device has been tested with samples collected on surfaces after an explosion and an innovative data analysis has enabled to quickly get information on the type of explosive and its origin. This device has been applied successfully on samples coming from real terrorist attacks and will be also useful in the fight against nuclear proliferation. (A.C.)
