Possibilities for energy development of the Republic of Bulgaria till 2020, taking into account the impact on the environment

Different scenaria for the energy sector development in Bulgaria are considered. A comparative analyses of the gross fuel and energy consumption and the development of the the end energy consumption in the industry sector till 2020 are presented. The main criteria in the forming of the fuel-energy consumption are diversification of the primary fuels and energy, different period for implementation of energy efficient technologies as well as the influence of the structural changes in the country. The expectations are of the energy consumption decrease which remains under the values for 1996. The expected energy consumption in the industry sector decreases by around 19% for the period 2000 - 2005 and 14.3% for the period 2015 - 2020 for the minimal scenario; 13% (2000 - 2005) and 14.3% (2015 - 2020) for the maximal scenario, and 14.3% (2000 - 2005) and 13% (2015 - 2020) for the gasification scenario respectively
