Description of the processing system in operation at the Caen Radioisotope Laboratory

Description

A scintigraphic data processing system consisting of a Nuclear Enterprises NE 8900 gamma camera and an NTT computer is described. The results of efficiency tests on this camera are given, the parameters involved being as follows: homogeneity, intrinsic resolution, linearity study, dead time calculation. The conclusion is that these characteristics can be improved. Software applications are also studied (acquisition of correction matrices, recording of a scintigraphic examination, image processing). The possibilities of the system in the field of dynamic studies are emphasized

Abstract (French)

On a presente un systeme de traitement des donnees scintigraphiques, comprenant une gamma camera Nuclear Entreprises NE 8900 et un calculateur NTT. Une experimentation sur les performances de cette camera a porte sur les parametres suivants dont on a indique les resultats correspondants: homogeneite, resolution intrinseque, etude de la linearite, calcul du temps mort. On considere que ces performances peuvent etre ameliorees. On a etudie egalement la mise en oeuvre du software d'application (acquisition de matrices de correction, enregistrement d'un examen scintigraphique, traitement d'image). On a insiste sur les possibilites du systeme en ce qui concerne les etudes dynamiques
