Simulation studies on current fed Cockroft-Walton multiplier

Description
A Cockroft-Walton Multiplier (CWM), which is a capacitor and diode multiplier circuit, has been popularly used for generating high voltage dc from a low voltage ac or a pulsed dc input. Numerous works have been carried out in the field of voltage fed CWM and its analysis and design have been reported extensively in the published literature. A current fed CWM can be used to supply high voltage dc to various devices such as X-ray machines, cyclotrons, UHV electron microscope, lasers, CRTs etc. Current fed CWM can avoid various disadvantages associated with voltage fed CWM such as generation of pulsating input current, delay in response etc. A current fed CWM is usable with various high-frequency pulse-width- modulated converters and resonant converters. This paper presents the simulation studies on current fed CWM
