Method of judging the endurance properties of the components of a gaseous diffusion plant
Description
General methods of judging the endurance properties of materials are presented. The endurance of a material is characterized here by a mathematical concept known as the survival function, determined by the introduction of a model and the definition of certain notions such as the age and death of the material. A point estimate is reached, corresponding to the most probable survival function, and an estimate by confidence limits which assembles the most probable survival functions to a threshold corresponding to the confidence level required. An application at the Pierrelatte plant is described

On presente les methodes generales d'appreciation des caracteristiques d'endurance de materiels. L'endurance d'un materiel est caracterisee ici par un concept mathematique appele fonction de survie, dont la determination exige l'introduction d'un modele et la precision de certaines notions comme l'age du materiel et sa mort. On aboutit a une estimation ponctuelle qui correspond a la fonction de survie la plus probable et a une estimation par intervalle de confiance qui reunit les fonctions de survie les plus probables, jusqu'a un seuil correspondant au niveau de confiance que l'on desire.
