Optimizing the response evaluation of the PRESAGE(R) solid-state dosimeter using optical tomography

Description

Dosimeter response evaluation optimization consisted of UV/VIS spectrophotometric measurement of PRESAGE(R) cuvettes (1 x 1 cm) after Co-60 irradiation in a Gammacell 220 irradiator, and further irradiation of PRESAGE(R) cylinders (d 11 cm, h 9.5 cm) using a TrueBeam irradiator at the FN Oncology Clinic in Motola. The irradiation plan was designed in the linear response range of the dosimeter (10-50 Gy) in order to test the spatial resolution and determination accuracy of the optical tomography (OT) instrument. As part of the optimization, the appropriate selection of the optical filter in front of the light panel illuminating the dosimeter, the selection of the optical filter in front of the detector (CCD camera), aperture setting and exposure length were tested. Furthermore, different algorithms for 3D reconstruction of the obtained data were assessed. (authors)
