Preparation and analysis of 125I-labelled sodium iodate and disodium trihydrogen orthoperiodate

Description

A preparation method for solid 125I-labelled sodium iodate and disodium trihydrogen orthoperiodate is described. The samples have a weight of about 50 mg. They are prepared starting from sodium iodide by distillation to iodine and further oxidation with sodium chlorate and chlorine, respectively. Infrared spectroscopy, thin-layer chromatography, and X-ray crystallography are used to check the purity of the substances. (author)
