Investigation into bond strength between matrix and fibre in compositions prepared by liquid impregnation method
Description
The method of extracting a fibre from the matrix was used to determine the bond strength of components in compositions based on aluminium, its alloys and copper with fibres of Kh18N10T steel, tungsten and molybdenum, obtained by liquid impregnation in a vacuum and drawing from a melt in air. The presence of transition layers in the composition aluminium-Kh18N10T determines the high bond strength of the components. Increasing the testing temperature reduces the bond strength at the boundary of the components. Plastic deformation leads to destruction of the transition layers and loss of the bond between fibre and matrix and has no effect on the bond strength of components in the composition copper-Kh18N10T, which has no transition layers.
