Obtaining and optical properties of rare earth selenides monocrystals

Description
RE selenide crystallization from stoichiometric melt in the atmosphere of hydrogen selenide allows one to obtain transparent stoichiometric crystals. A strong Faraday effect is detected in Ln2Se3. The maximum values of Werde constant are obtained in cerium selenide. 10 refs., 4 figs
