Chaotic response of magnetization in superfluid 3He-B to a periodic field
- 1. Department of Physics, Science University of Tokyo, 1-3 Kagurazaka, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 162, Japan
Description
The nonlinear response of nuclear magnetization of superfluid 3He-B to an externally applied alternating magnetic field is investigated in the geometry of longitudinal NMR. It is shown that the magnetization can exhibit chaotic response in addition to multiple periodic modes with an increase in amplitude and/or frequency of external field. In particular, the period doubling and intermittent routes to the chaotic state are explicitly confirmed
