Description
A microfilter paper radioassay is presented for the rapid determination of progesterone in maternal capillary blood during pregnancy. The blood spot dried on filter paper is eluted with a buffer and extracted with ether. Radioimmunoassay is performed by using tritium-labelled progesterone and antiserum raised against 6-carboxymethylthioether: BSA. If hematocrite values are taken into consideration, the estimates are comparable to those obtained by conventional radioassay of serum. (author)
