Macroscopic level density parameters of nuclei

  • 1. Nuclear Physics Division, Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Trombay, Bombay-400 085, India

Description

Starting from the single-particle energy level scheme for the Woods-Saxon potential, the systematics of the macroscopic level density parameters of nuclei has been studied. A strong dependence of the level density parameter on the last nucleon separation energy was observed. A simple functional form for this dependence is proposed
