Description
Absorber rods (ARs) worth is required for estimating the shutdown margin (SDM) at various core states. 3-D diffusion theory calculations in 26 groups (using ABBN-93 cross section library) with FARCOB code system is used for estimating AR worth in PFBR. The uncertainty in the total worth is about 11%. 3-D transport theory calculations based on Monte-Carlo method is carried out recently with the aim of estimating the shutdown margin more accurately. In this paper, details of Monte Carlo modeling of PFBR core and the results of AR worth prediction are discussed. (author)
