Description

A canonical profile transport model previously tested at the tokamaks characterized by the standard aspect ratio was used to simulate START spherical tokamak. A set of ohmic discharges was used to adapt the model to the specific conditions of the spherical tokamak. Application of the model serving as a tool to analyze discharges with extra heating by a beam of neutrals enables to evaluate P beam intensity absorbed by plasma and difficult to be measured in the course of the experiment. The simulation demonstrated that P value, as well as, plasma energy lifetime increased with growth of plasma density. In conclusion the adapted model was used to simulate MAST new mega-ampere tokamak constructed in Culam
