On nuclear liquid-gas phase transition via multifragmentation and fission
Description
The temperature dependence of the liquid-drop fission barrier is considered with the critical temperature as a parameter. The comparison is made of the experimental and calculated data on the fission probability for highly excited 188 Os. It is concluded that the critical temperature for the nuclear liquid-gas phase transition is higher than 10 MeV. One should take it into account while interpreting the caloric curve in nuclear multifragmentation
