Measurements of emission coefficient for continuum radiation from shock-treated krypton plasmas
Description
Using a shock tube, the xi factor has been determined at lambda = 456.1nm by observations of the continuum radiation and simultaneous interferometric measurements of the electron number density. For the electron-density range used 1 x 1016 cm-3 v= etasub(e) v= 4 x 1016cm-3, we obtain an increase in the xi factor for decreasing electron densities. These results are compared with theoretical and other experimental data. (author)
