Acoustic properties of YBa2Cu3O7-δ ceramics

Description
The acoustic properties of a superconducting orthorhombic phase and a nonsuperconducting tetragonal phase of the YBa2Cu3O7-δ ceramics have been experimentally investigated at 10--30 MHz in the temperature range of 77--250 K. An anomalous behavior of the ultrasound attenuation, which is typical of an orthogonal phase, has been observed at temperatures of 120--200 K. Under thermal cycling of a superconducting sample the bulk acoustic wave attenuation undergoes hysteretic changes which are not observed in a surface-wave attenuation
