Ceramographic analysis of MOX fuel rods after irradiation test
Description
MOX(Mixed oxide) fuel pellets were fabricated at PSI in the framework of the cooperation project between KAERI and PSI entitled 'Preparation of MOX and IMF(Inert Matrix Fuel) for the Irradiation Test in the Halden Material Test Reactor'. The MOX pellets were transported to IFE for the fabrication of fuel rods and instrumentations. Six fuel rods, those were, two of KAERI MOX, one of SBR MOX and three of IMF rod were assembled into IFA 651 test rig which was irradiated in the Halden reactor. Ceramography of the irradiated MOX fuels was performed at IFE. This report contains the results of macroscopic and microscopic structure analysis for MOX fuels including the information on ceramography technique of MOX fuel in hot cell
