X-ray emission from ''Aton'' plasma focus

Description
The plasma focus ''Aton'' is in operation since 1992, which is Mather type, consists of two modules capable to deliver more than 1 MA discharge current. This work is carried out by using one module capacitor bank and hydrogen gas with pressure between 1 to 6 torr. For 0.5 MA discharge current a sharp drop in the current trace accompanied by a sudden rise of the voltage between the coaxial electrode. The structure of the emitted x-ray has been performed by means of x-ray probe detector. The results showed that the x-ray intensity has a peak value at hydrogen pressure of 4 torr, and the source was mainly from the focused plasma. (orig.)
