The increase of microheterogeneity of blood glycoproteins as a molecular marker of environmental exposure on human organism

Description
The evaluated microheterogeneity of serum glycoproteins, arising from modifications of sugar moiety, in particular, the accumulation of fucosylated proteins, is considered as a adaptation process of human organism influenced by environmental exposure. As one of possible reason resulting in accumulation of abnormally glycosylated blood proteins, we discuss the increased biosynthesis of these proteins resulting from structure-functional reorganisation of the plasma membrane and disorders in lipid catabolism
