Use of electrohydraulic effect in powder metallurgy

Description

The possibility of utilizing the electrohydraulic-pulsed pressing of metallic powders for powder metallurgy applications is shown. The parameters of the action are investigated and a mechanism for compacting the powder materials as examplified by W-Ni powders is suggested. The method permits to produce compacts of a high relative density (up to 95 %) and improves the quality of sintered products
