Chemical methods for removing high-temperature oxidic films

  • 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Monomerov dlya Sinteticheskogo Kauchuka, Yaroslavl (USSR)

Description

In studies on high temperature oxidation of metals and alloys involving measurements of decrease in the mass of samples the routine methods of chemical removal of corrosion products often prove useless, since they cause too high losses of metals from etching, which never exceed 5% of the total losses due to corrosion. To accelerate the separation of corrosion the samples should be periodically taken out of the bath and treated with an Indian rubber
