An experimental study of forced convective transition boiling
- 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
Experimental data were obtained on forced convective transition boiling heat transfer from two plane surfaces of different length to water at atmospheric pressure. Boiling curves were obtained for the short surface, and the effects of subcooling, mass velocity and surface orientation were clarified. The heat transfer characteristics for the long surface were compared with those for the short surface, and it was found that the local heat transfer characteristics along the long surface could be estimated from those for the short surface by taking account of the fluid behavior close to the surface.
