Efficient high order method for fluid dynamics equation

Description
Recently, a special class of Weighted Residual Methods has been introduced to neutron kinetics calculations. As basisfunctions local polynomials with weightfunctions are used. For cases with a regular grid structure this method proved to be much more efficient than conventional FD- or FE methods. The method is now being applied to fluid dynamics equations, where it seems to offer similar advantages. (orig./RW)
Abstract (German)
Vor kurzem wurde fuer neutronenkinetische Rechnungen eine besondere Klasse von gewichteten Residuen-Methoden eingefuehrt. Als Basisfunktionen werden lokale Polynome mit Gewichtsfunktionen verwendet. In Faellen mit regelmaessiger Gitterstruktur war dieses Verfahren erheblich effektiver als herkoemmliche FD- und FE-Verfahren. Das Verfahren wird nun auf fluiddynamische Gleichungen angewandt, wo es aehnlich vorteilhaft zu sein scheint. (orig./RW)
