Selective removal of hydrogen sulfide over zinc titanate and alumina

Description
A process for removing hydrogen sulfide from a fluid stream containing hydrogen sulfide is described comprising the step of contacting the fluid stream under absorbing conditions with an absorbing composition comprising zinc titanate and alumina promoted with at least one metal selected from tungsten and molybdenum and at least one metal selected from Group VIII of the Periodic Table. The concentration of alumina in the absorbing composition is in the range of about 10 weight-% to about 55 weight-% based upon the combined weight of the zinc titanate and alumina
