Description

X-ray diffraction methods (powder diffractometry, X-ray crystal structure analysis) and hydrostatic weighing are used to study monocrystals prepared by Czochralski method from {Gd3-xLax}(Sc2)Ga3O12 (x=0; 0.25; 0.5; 0.75) and Nd3Sc2Ga3O12 composition melt. It is found that in gadolinium, lanthanum-scandium-gallium garnet scandium atoms occupy dodecahedral and octahedral positions, and in neodymium, scandium-gallium garnet - dodecahedral, octahedral and, possibly, tetrahedral ones
