Exotic mesons in anti NN annihilation

Creators

  • 1. Brookhaven National Lab., Upton, NY (USA)

Description

The author investigates the utility of the antinucleon-nucleon (anti NN) annihilation process as a means of producing exotic (non anti QQ) mesons. Several examples are considered of JπC exotic formation in the anti pp → πX reaction. He emphasizes the usefulness of quantum number filtration, achieved by preparing the initial anti pp atom in tagged L = 0,1 states and focusing on selected exclusive final states. 36 references, 4 tables
