Phase diagram of Na2MoO4-Na2SO4 system

Description
A state diagram has been constructed by differential thermal and X-ray phase analyses for the Na2MoO4-Na2SO4 system which is characterized by the presence of several series of limited solid solutions and a liquidus curve with a minimum at 666 deg C and 75 mol.% of Na2MoO4. On the basis of identity of X-ray patterns for α-Na2MoO4 and α-K2MoO4 a suggestion has been put forward concerning their isostructural character. An X-ray pattern for α-Na2MoO4 has been identified in the hexagonal syngony with the following cell parameters at 650 deg C: a=5.908 and c=5.506 A
