Study of implantation of a remote data control and acquisition system for PTW-UNIDOS electrometers

A study for improving the data control and acquisition has been carried out as part of the efforts for expanding and modernizing the Instruments Calibration Laboratory (LCI) at the IPEN (Instituto de Pesquisas Energeticas e Nucleares), around the instruments providing built-in communication interface. The present work describes the foregoing steps in the implementation of a system based on the RS-232 protocol and the LabView programming language, which will let PTW model UNIDOS E electrometers currently used during the calibration of dosimeters for diagnostic radiology measurements to be integrated into an automated computer based data acquisition system.
