Bladder volumetry by ultrasound scanning

Description
A method is suggested for determining the bladder volume with particular reference to the search for residual urine in a variety of urogenital system diseases. Results are reported of comparative measurement of the residual urine amount by the method proposed and indirect radioisotope technique. High precision and noninvasiveness are stressed as main advantages of the method. The feasibility of its introduction in the clinical practice are pointed out. 1 fig., 1 tab., 7 refs
