Description
Voltammetry is a technique which could potentially be used in-line in nuclear fuel reprocessing plants to give solute concentrations (uranium and plutonium). The advantages of voltammetry as an in-line technique are discussed, together with the crucial problems encountered. Requirements of an in-line voltammetry system are detailed and discussed. The identification of suitable electrodes, the measurement of uranium and plutonium in 3M HN03 using a gold electrode and the development of remotely operating all-metal electrodes sensors are described.
