Aluminium-yttrium garnet phonon spectrum

Description
The frequency distribution function has been experimentally obtained of normal oscillations g(ω) of an yttrium aluminium garnet by neutron inelastic scattering method. The curve g(ω) exhibits some peculiarities in the frequency range of 150, 230, 345, 425, 600 i 760 cm-1. The spectrum boundary is in the region of 900 cm-1 (110 MeV). Comparative analysis is carried out of these peculiarities and of the position of optically active oscillations detected in experiments on the Raman effect and infrared light absorption
