Description
Research using spectroscopy and research into improving the various spectroscopic techniques continues around the world mainly with two motivations: the subject has found enormous applications in various areas like material analysis and characterization, biochemical, medical field, astronomy, remote sensing, imaging, etc; and it has always been a very imperative tool for scientists in understanding fundamental principles in nature. This talk focuses on resonance excitation/ionization based laser spectroscopic techniques developed in the laboratory and their applications. A thermal opto-galvanic spectroscopy technique using CW diode lasers to generate high resolution spectroscopic data useful for studies on hyperfine interactions has been developed.
