Description

Investigated are conditions for spectral sensitization by dye molecules of photoprocess in CdS monocrystals. Dye adsorption was carried out from solutions in ethanol with 10-4 mol/l concentration. Sensitization efficiency was stated as photocurrent relation in maxima of sensitized and proper sensitivity in photoconductivity spectra. It is shown, that effective sensitization is observed at introduction of halogen admixture ions (particularly, chlorine) into the crystal, which form donor levels. Sensitization efficiency of the 0.5-0.8 order has been achieved with a number of dyes of xanthene and cyanine groups. Sensitability of photoconductors essentially depended on the quantity of the introduced admixture
