Studies on X-ray fluorescence spectrometry analysis for uranium thorium and other compositions in complex geological total analysis sample

  • 1. Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology (China)

Description

An analytical method is suggested for X-ray fluorescence spectrometry analysis of some other composition in complex geological total analysis sample. The fusion technique has been used for the preparation of sample plates, and the pressure technique has been used for a few elements. The matrix effects are corrected by using Rh Compton scattering peak as the internal standard method and empirical influence coefficients. The determination limit of SrO, ZrO2, PbO, CuO, NiO, ZnO, Cr2O3, BaO, As2O3, Nb2O5, V2O5, ThO2, U3O8 are 0.0030%, 0.0030%, 0.0036%, 0.0042%, 0.0027%, 0.0021%, 0.0069%, 0.0048%, 0.0015%, 0.0048%, 0.0051%, 0.0036%, 0.0030% respectively. The respective precision and accuracy of the method have proved quite good. It can be used satisfactorily in the geological research work. (8 tabs., 6 refs.)
