Description
Due to moving two current lead tanks to the new power hall which is 30 meters away from the EAST hall, 13 superconducting joints between the old and new superconducting conductor were designed and manufactured. This paper mainly introduces the structural design, air voids calculation, DC resistance theory calculation, calculation of pressure drop and process plan of one superconducting joint, etc. Therefore, a pair of superconducting joint was made and the electrical test was done. The results confirm that the design of superconducting joint structure and processing technology meet the needs of the engineering of EAST. (authors)
